The Services may link to third-party websites, online services, or mobile applications and/or contain advertisements from third parties that are not affiliated with us and which may link to other websites, services, or applications. Accordingly, we do not make any guarantee regarding any such third parties, and we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of such third-party websites, services, or applications. If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws or other similar laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable law.

European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses:

We have implemented measures to protect your personal information, including by using the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information between our group companies and between us and our third-party providers. These clauses require all recipients to protect all personal information that they process originating from the EEA or UK in accordance with European data protection laws and regulations. In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence.

In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) if applicable, to data portability; and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. If a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated means, we will inform you, explain the main factors, and offer a simple way to request human review. If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at privacy@cirlo.app.

12. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

14. WHO CAN SEE WHAT YOU PUT IN CIRLO

Cirlo is not a social network and has no public feed, no likes, and no timeline. Most of what you put into Cirlo is private to you. The people you add as connections, the circles you sort them into, your notes about them, your contact history, and your drift reminders are visible only to you. Your Recap and your Yearbook are yours. A limited profile, consisting of your first name, username, profile photo, avatar colors, and bio, can be seen by other signed-in Cirlo users who look you up, and it is how someone confirms they are connecting with the right person. Your last name, your city, and your contact methods are shared only with people you are mutually connected with. Your phone number and your sign-in email are shared with your connections only if you switch those options on yourself; both are off by default. Content you deliberately send to another person, such as a Pulse or a signature in someone's Yearbook, is visible to that person. Anonymous accounts have no public profile at all.

15. IMPORTING CONTACTS FROM YOUR PHONE

If you choose to import contacts, Cirlo asks your device for permission and then reads the names, phone numbers, email addresses, and photo thumbnails in your address book so it can show you a list to pick from. That matching happens on your device. Cirlo never uploads your whole address book. Only the people you explicitly select are saved to your account, up to 100 people per import, and for each of them we store the name, the phone number or email address you selected, and their photo. Because a connection is a record about another person, you should only add people whose details you are entitled to keep, and you should not put information about them in your notes that they would not expect you to hold. Our servers also create a one-way hash of a connection's phone number and email address so we can tell you if that person already uses Cirlo. Those hashes cannot be reversed back into the original number or address, and we do not use them for advertising. You can delete any connection at any time, which removes it and its hashes immediately.

16. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT, AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THINGS YOU SENT OTHER PEOPLE

You can delete your account from Settings in the app. When you do, your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out, and it stays recoverable for 30 days in case you change your mind. If you sign back in within those 30 days, your orbit is restored. After 30 days a scheduled job permanently and irreversibly deletes your profile, your connections, your circles, your username, your connection requests, your Recap and Yearbook data, your uploaded files, and your sign-in credentials. It also removes you from other people's accounts, clearing the link and the cached copy of your name and photo from their connection records. There is one exception, and it is deliberate. Some features let you send something to another person, such as a signature in their Yearbook or a Pulse. A copy stays in that person's own history, because it is their record of an interaction they took part in, and it remains available to them after you delete your account. When you delete your account we remove your account identifiers from that content, but your first name stays attached to it along with anything you wrote or sent. We keep the first name because removing it would leave the recipient with a message from nobody, or worse, one that looks like it came from the wrong person.

17. ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING, AND NOTIFICATIONS IN THE APP

Analytics. Cirlo records product analytics only in the released app, never in development builds. These events are designed to contain no personal information: they use counts grouped into ranges, yes or no values, short labels, and screen templates rather than the actual screen you are on. We do not send names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, search text, or the identifier of any specific person you track. The only identifier attached is your Cirlo account id. We also collect crash and performance diagnostics so we can fix problems. Advertising. The free version of Cirlo shows a single banner ad. These ads are non-personalized: they are not chosen based on your interests or on any profile of you. Cirlo does not use the Apple advertising identifier, does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and turns on restricted data processing with our advertising provider. Our advertising provider still receives technical information needed to serve an ad, including your IP address and the approximate location derived from it. If you subscribe to Cirlo+, the advertising code never starts and you see no ads at all. Notifications. If you turn on notifications, the messages we send are delivered through Apple and Google and can include another person's first name, for example to tell you that someone signed your Yearbook or sent you a Pulse. You can turn notifications off entirely, or adjust them by category, in Settings.
